| The
work explores the relationships between the 'man made' and the environment.
Shapes and textures are influenced by memories of the decaying post industrial
1970's Yorkshire landscape and a childhood fascination with the beauty of
rotting and worn objects. Most pieces convey a feeling of ambiguous balance;
a balance and beauty that only exists once objects are discarded. These
objects are almost reclaimed by the natural environment, linked through
colour and texture but always separated through form and a forgotten function.
